Halloween is incoming and these must replace your Haribo or random candy especially if you have children. They also work phenomenal as a way to get your gelatine in honestly. We all like beautiful things even as adults so why not, you can make them in a simple food container and cut just straight square pieces, or you can go the extra mile and make little bears and worms if you bought the silicone (food-grade) from your local store or Amazon. You will also need a dropper of course to fill the little moulds and most of the time these come together as a pack especially if you purchase them via Amazon.
This recipe is foolproof. Works every single time.
INGREDIENTS
- 240 ml of your favourite juice, not from concentrate (we used Innocent and Brämhults, in Sweden)
- 2 generous tablespoons (and even a little more, say 2,5) of beef gelatine (use a clean brand with no additives!)
- optional: a little honey, depending on how sweet you want them or none at all
DIRECTIONS
- Prepare your moulds by washing them and oiling them inside with a little bit of coconut oil or whatever oil you might have (avocado, EVOO, for the love of Gods, no seed oils if you follow me). You do this so you avoid the little shapes to stick to the mould when you want to press them out so they keep the shape beautifully. This step can be skipped if you dont care and you want to just eat it out by the spoon out of a container.
- Then in a sauce pan, add your juice, allow it to get warm to the point you see steam coming up, then add your gelatine and whisk vigorously so the gelatine doesn’t stick to the pan.
- Add honey if you want.
- Pour with the help of a dropper in the little shapes, or just pour in a glass container and pop it in the fridge until it is set and ready to enjoy!
Have fun making them and munching on them! Let me know how you like them if you try this recipe (write to me via Instagram).
